Howdy,
I wonder why there is no Gallery labeled "Western Genre"?
I use "Fine Art". Some kind of anticipated conceptual if not labor intensive humility? I guess I could adapt? I mean I could use some other Gallery label. How about;
3-D Art? I could paint the same subject twice?
Abstract? I reckon all my paintings coud quallify at least once!
Aname/Manga? I have no idea what the hell this means! Let alone be a good enough artist to contribute to it!
Comics? Now I wonder if my cartoons should be in here? Who can say, as they are mostly political in nature!
Conceptual? I thought that was a "woman" thing?
Fantasy? OK, that must be the "man" thing!?
Fashion illiustration? I used to spend hours when I was very young trying to draw women in dresses, and men in dresses. It just got boring. So my mind is not hooked into a celebration of fashion conception, or I am just too stupid. But like watching the "hercules" type movies, I grew up and out of that. (some don't ya know?:)
Fill In the Blank! Now, see, I should have read further! If I had seen this Gallery title first, I would'a known that it was just right for me. Wait! Maybe it is some forms with blanks? Ok, that leaves me out, because I can't remember tough things those ask, like date of birth and age and place names. Oh, well.
Graffiti? Ok, I used to stop, and stoop, to draw on the concrete walkways using "white rock" (gypsum) that is abundant around here. I stopped that too, back when I got old enough to find out that was not much appreciated. Maybe the homeowners didn't like my subjects? Huge Dongles were not vogue I reckon. But I tried to conform....
Now them other Gallerys I plan to participate in! I am into more Modern, Mixed, and landscapes (texas mostly), as well as a dash o' humor! Those I understand. But if you don't bellieve my western art is humorous, that is, not in a serious vien, then my cartoons will have to suffice. I hardly sale anything. Too bad. I tried to sale cartoons, and do occasionally sale a painting, or trade for art supplies (Yeah, I know its a bad habit), but never a cartoon. I have to just about give them away. (Yes I have and to publishers) The only things I have ever had published was a few articles in magazines. And of course online articles. But that leaves a few dozen books about wierd subjects gathering dust in the corner of my room! Too bad.....so sad....your dead!
